Vocational Education

In school age, we will spend a part of day each day focusing on a vocational education skill.

The goal for the High School classes is to create and manage a SBE (student-based enterprise). This will look like a coffee cart and running our school based thrift store.  Our students each have a role and job title that they are to fulfill the duties of that job. They get to pick what job they wish to do in the store such as Sorting items, picking out a new display or styling our Gator Guys and Gals to name a few.

The goal in introducing SBE’s is to allow our Students to take back autonomy in the school and feel more pride in Gateway. This allows them the chance to engage in functional tasks throughout the day that can then be carried over outside of school (that is the goal!)
