Gateway's Village of Volunteers

If you wish to join our special village and volunteer, see below on how to take the next steps necessary!

Gateway's Volunteers are a key part of what makes Gateway so special. Our village of volunteers range from college athletes to local firefighters to Kiwanis club members to friends and family who want to give back. Our volunteers provide a variety of support, fun, and excitement to our students in a multitude of ways. From our "Bus Buddies" at UNCG who help our students get to their classes, to our Firefighters helping to fundraise, to our very own local "Santa", our volunteers know no bounds. We are always excited to welcome those in our community who wish to give back to our Gators! If you wish to volunteer with us, or want to connect, reach out via our Facebook, Instagram or through our Contact Us page and we can further explore the possibilities that await!

GCS shared "This school year, over 13,000 volunteers have contributed more than 222,000 service hours thus far. Their time is priceless, but at the national value of an hour of volunteer time, their service totals more than $7.4 million."

Getting started:

For the safety of our students, and in compliance with our Board Policy 5015, volunteers who are 16 years old and older are required to register with GCS and complete a background check for any volunteer work that has the potential for unsupervised time with students.
